Pondicherry is a hidden gem of South-East India. A former French coloney on the Sea of Bengal, it retains all of its charm and gentility of colonial times. Our retreat will take place at Sharnga guesthouse in Auroville, near Pondicherry. Visit the birthplace of Yoga and you'll understand why its traditions have endured for millennium and they continue to have relevance and value in our modern world. During the retreat we will visit the Sri Aurobindo ashram, the Matri Mandir in Auroville, and various other attractions in the area.
We will begin each morning with a active yang yoga practice; a dynamic flow of asanas that will warm and invigorate our bodies as we wake up to a new day. Then we will go on an outing to a nearby temple, botanical garden, beach, or ashram. Each evening we will practice calming yin yoga; rejuvenating our vitality and freeing us from our tensions. Followed by an evening meditation to still our minds and turn inwards.
Prices: 10 day retreat January 4-14, 2016
Yin Yang Yoga, like the symbol, represents perfect balance - opposites interacting. Bringing the two into harmonic balance promotes good health on all levels.
Yin and yang can be thought of as complementary forces that interact to form a dynamic system in which the whole is greater than its parts. Everything has both yin and yang aspects. The yin yang symbol shows a balance between two opposites with a little bit in each.
